If all of you had to reccomend one film for other members to watch, one film that could change who they are, one film that could show them a whole new aspect of the world, or maybe one film that means something special to yourself then what would it be?

For me, it would be a movie that I only recently watched called 'Into The Wild'.

It's based on the true story of a recent college grads pursuit of true happiness and freedom. It shows his rejection of mainstream society and everything wrong with it and how he deals with it. It's a film about maturing. It's a great film, and I recommend that all of you find a way to see this film.

This is out to you LTPS. Star Wars. I told you before most of it is about politics..1,2,3 is about how a republic becomes an empire and how a good person becomes evil as well as how 1 man manipulates everything in order to become the emperor. 4,5,6 is how a small rebel group defeats the empire. And there are so many hidden messages from mythology, religion and ancient stories its crazy.

This simple scene. Its on a planet with two suns. As you know the sun is a symbol for destiny and as such he has two destinies that he mus choose between.

If you are reluctant to watch it just because its a movie associated with nerds. Dont think of it as space as it transcends the setting of the movie.

As much as I agree Wes Anderson movies are some of the best out there I was thinking more along the lines of powerful films for this thread. Films that have the potential to change someones life. As much as Bottle Rocket might be a great story, I don't see anyone reconsidering their place in the world from it ahaha.

For a powerful movie I would say: "Schindler's List"

For a good Irish themed movie: either "Veronica Guerin" (strong Irish female reporter) or as was mentioned in another thread "The Wind That Shakes The Barley"

For a good funny movie: "Grandma's Boy"

Fight Club is awesome. Saw it at "midnight cult classics" one friday night when I was at Western. Went out and bought it the next day.
