arkaga, the business world equivalent of uninterested american millionaires (sans the millionaires part) have decided to pull out of cork entirely and completely, leaving behind massive debts and no revenue to pay the players, keep up the ground, etc. im not exactly sure how that isnt illegal, but regardless cork have been left in examinership (almost administration), during which time theyll try to find another financial backer or more than likely have to fold for the rest of the season (the fai have a poor record of taking clubs into administration--not their fault its a cash strapped league)

That's never good. Hopefully Cork finds a financial backer soon!

christ hello league 1. fucking shit i might be mistaken but none of the many, many cork teams over the years have ever been relegated, let alone forced to fold in the middle of a season. this might be the end of cork city as we know it if they have to go down a division and be forced to take on part-time players

it would be appropo if we won the title, but we missed our chances when bohs got us at home a few weeks ago. wonder if theyd still let us play in europe

well the penalty for going into examinership was 10pts, which effectively ends our title hopes (we were a longshot by now anyway) the interim examiner, kieran mccarthy, a wealthy businessman has been named permanent examiner, but that lasts only until october and no one is really expecting kieran to buy the club

the fans have set up a supporters group with the hopes of helping the club financially (maybe even buying it if things go incredibly well, but thats a pipedream really), and john o'flynn, one of the top scorers for the past 5 years, has been sold t barnet :nooooooo: :nooooooo: :nooooooo:

in the sparse good news column we beat cliftonville 2-0 in the setanta cup, despite having already qualified from the group. winning that is said to have an almost 1mil purse, so that would certainly help at this point

they will be im afraid. right now they're only in examinership. teams like galway and limerick have gone for for simply going broke, and thats whats going to happen on october 7 when the examinership ends. only hope is maybe winning the setanta cup, and the fans group and others can raise enough money to pay the bills

even so, next year is going to be nothing but part-timers and locals playing for pennies. so whether it happens this year or next, theyre going down :nooooooo:

big 1-0 win over the candystripes!!!!!!

but attendance under 2000 :nooooooo: having the game moved from the weekend (rain) really hurts at a time when having big gate receipts is pretty essential :nooooooo:
