It's nothing new, I mean, at least they're honest about it, and it's not like any real St. Pauli fan is going to buy these silly basketball shoes. Some wanker will cash in on them in some obscure part of the world that isn't the Reeperbahn and nobody will care. It's the alleged leftists that wear Che t-shirts that tick me off the most. There's no better way to stick it to the capitalist establishment than to buy the most lucrative t-shirt line in the history of Western Civilization. I would hope they could be more creative, or at least make their own clothing like most decent true radicals I know.

Cant stand Che shirts and the like. Its so over used by people who are moderate liberals at best just to act like they are a rebel.

Isn't St Pauli all about death to capitalism and oppression ? What's more capitalist than fucking Nike ?

Those are the supporters who are left leaning, the team still has a board. While they may be less money grupping than the average club they are obviously not above cashing in.

Ya, sad but true, even the most leftist club still needs to hop into bed with the enemy from time to time. Sad but it's all buisness in the end.

St.Pauli, like all other clubs are still run by businessmen and women who are looking to make profit...such is the football world in the 21st century. That said, they still have arguably the highest percentage of leftist fans and a general anti-capitalist stance.

That said, anyone who buys these trainers needs their head checked... and then slapped.

then why does the club bother?-- ignorant celtic fans must make up most of their purchases of these items

To make money I'd guess. St.Pauli are made special by their fans, just like Celtic. Fans make football. "Football without fans is nothing".

Ignorant Celtic fans will make up a significant percentage of trainer sales, but they won't be the only ones. You see 'St.Pauli fans' decked from head to toe in merchandise from all over Germany and indeed the world.

Those shoes are popular in America and there are actually idiots who collect shoes and probably will be after them as well since they buy anything Nike puts out...
