It's definitely a stronger relationship than Celtic has with Barca.

There is an annual Celtic-St. Pauli festival in Hamburg every year and Celtic even sells St. Pauli stuff on their website (not sure about the other way around). And if Celtic ever play in Germany or St. Pauli in Scotland supporters will go to the game to support the team playing.

Would love to see Camp Nou pictures!

I get what you are saying about St. Pauli and Celtic. I'm sure most on both sides would love to see the other do well (especially better than HSV and Rangers!) but won't be throwing themselves off bridges if the other doesn't do well...

Its understandable ktin.

But with a kid like me who has been deprived of football due to no league, then a bad one, and of my own choice back in the day, me learning more about St. Pauli and our history together does make me care about them more.

I wouldnt jump off a bridge, but i'd smack someone. :D

St. Who?? Just kidding. If St. Pauli are playing, i'll wish them success, but if they lose....ah well....Celtic is a different story altogether.

The connection between Celtic and St.Pauli is still very strong, although not as strong as years ago due to factors outwith both set of fans control, i.e distance, money, change in circumstance etc.

They're still a lot of genuine friendships there though, and many many fans from both teams journey to the others stadium, and homes for parties, football and politics every year.

For far too many Celtic fans (and other football 'fans' in Germany and elsewhere) the St.Pauli connection is something they don't understand or really care about and tops are worn in a fashion sense rather than the for the political ties which bound us a long time ago; which over time developed into real friendship and real passion for each others causes, principles and clubs. That'll never be lost, and it's still their to gain for people who genuinely want to understand and develop the special relationship between both clubs and fans *wink*

In recent years there's been debate on a certain issue... a lot of Celtic fans still have a bee in their bonnet over the USP national flag rule. My take on it is that: they'd do well to remember the USP are not representive of the whole St.Pauli support and the 'ban' does not stand for the full stadium. If they go to be guests of a certain group then they'd do well to respect the rules of that group or stadium, the same as we'd expect of anyone coming into our stadium. Up the USP  *wink* ... although I'm an Anarchist so the accusation I get levelled at me is that "I would say that!".
